3 Sofiproteol: Let’s invest sustainably in subsidiaries
Investments of €430 million, between the end of 2012 and the end of 2020, for the benefit of the subsidiaries, through Sofiproteol, the financing and development company of the Avril Group
Co-investment of €40 million, between the end of 2012 and the end of 2020, in venture capital projects in agri-business
Sofiproteol supports over 100 companies throughout France, with 80,000 employees
SDP, a Sofiproteol partner, is an SME that produces plant health supplements and is trying to evolve in its RSI approach.
Sofiproteol supports Meta Bio Energies, a methanisation and composting unit that allows the annual recovery of 60,000 tonnes of agricultural waste
4 Let’s develop national subsidiaries
The use, in the French industrial units of the Avril Group, of 55% of the oil seeds harvested in France (23% of the Romanian production in the Romanian factories and 27% in Senegal)
Supply of industrial units in the animal feed field with over 80% of French raw materials
Each year, Saipol processes over half of the French oil production
The rapeseed and sunflower purchases for the EXPUR factory in Slobozia (Romania) are exclusively local
Almost 80% of the raw materials that enter our animal feed plants are of French origin
5 Let’s make better food for people
Meeting the annual food oil needs of 100 million people
Contribution to ensuring the annual animal protein needs of 30 million people
In Morocco, Lesieur Cristal launched Lesieur 3G oil, made from rapeseed, sunflower and soy oil
In Romania, the Bunica oil brand has expanded its range with oils rich in Omega 3 or Vitamin D
The “Involved in growing” approach is a chain of excellence for pig farming in France, with high demands on sustainable development and animal welfare.
Within the Avril 2020 project, an extra-financial analysis was carried out for each area of activity of the Group. The areas of activity were analysed according to two types of criteria:
Their contribution to the development of the chain (added value and jobs in France, the use of rapeseed and sunflower within the chain, etc.)
Their contribution to the Group’s social responsibility (food production, GHG balance, innovation, development in developing countries, etc.)
Thus, each Avril entity establishes its own roadmap to contribute to the Group’s project.
